April 10: Leviticus 3-5

Leviticus 3-5

“If a person sins unintentionally in any of the things which the Lord has commanded …” (4:2).  Several chapters deal with these “unintentional sins.”  When the guilty person (or group) became aware of his mistake, he was to present a sacrifice, and he would be forgiven.  We often “speak thoughtlessly” (5:5) and have an inclination toward sin even when we aren’t acting with deliberate forethought.  We live in a corrupted world that makes sin far easier than righteousness.

God knows us.  “While we were yet sinners” (both thoughtless sinners and the deliberate kind), He loved us and died for us.
