April 15: Job 24-26

Job 24-26

“From the city men groan, and the souls of the wounded cry out; yet God does not pay attention” (24:12).  Job accused God of ignoring the cries of orphans, widows, and the poor.  Bildad unhelpfully responded by saying humans are like worms and maggots, with no right to happiness (ch 25).  Exasperated, Job returned to the one thing he knew: God “wraps up the waters in His clouds … He quieted the sea with His power … Behold, these are the fringes of His ways” (26:8-14).

Job only knew “fringes of God’s ways,” but that was enough to give him hope that one day God would answer his questions.
