April 17: Psalm 90

Psalm 90

“Lord, Thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations” (v1).  Attributed to Moses, this psalm offers the deep security of knowing that God is beyond time.  “Before the mountains were born … even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God” (v2).  In contrast, our own short years are like a breath (v9-10).  Yet, we are important to God; He is our home, our dwelling place.  As we consider our lives in relation to Him, we gain “a heart of wisdom” (v12).

In fellowship with the One who gave birth to the world (v1), our lives are not pointless, but filled with grace and significance (v17).
