I Corinthians 1:1-17

"Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?" (v13). Paul used exaggeration to point out the foolishness of believers who aligned themselves with particular leaders. The problem was not with leadership itself; logically, all communities (spiritual and secular) have directors of some sort. The problem was that the believers were beginning to regard their leaders as super-human, instead of "servants through whom you believed" (3:5).

Whatever gifts we have, the New Testament says we are all part of the Body. We only worship one Head: Jesus Christ.
