II Chronicles 33
"And when he was in distress, he entreated the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers" (v12). When King Manasseh was captured (with hooks) by the Assyrians and dragged to Babylon, he repented of his terrible sins and called on God. Manasseh had been a horrible king. He put idols in Jerusalem's temple, and he "made his sons pass through the fire" (v6), and he practiced witchcraft. But when this sinful man repented, God heard him.
Amazingly, God accepted Manasseh's prayer and rescued him from captivity. Manasseh returned to Jerusalem transformed by mercy.
