Mark 5:1-20

“And they came to Jesus and observed the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind … and they became frightened” (v15).  The demonic forces which had controlled this man were so powerful that, when ordered out of his body, they caused 2000 pigs to drown themselves. The man’s neighbors observed his transformation, but they didn’t welcome Jesus.  They weren’t ready for the radical, earth-shaking changes provoked by the Messiah (v17).

Sometimes we resist Jesus because we are rightly afraid that He will disrupt our “normalcy.”  But His disruptions bring healing, peace, and freedom.
