I Corinthians 6:12-20
“Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body” (v13). Paul was correcting the Corinthians' tendency to separate life into “spiritual” and “other.” They thought they could serve Christ with their spirits but do what they wanted with their bodies. But “your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you” (v19), and our bodies matter to God. What we do reflects who we are just as much as how we believe or think or feel.
Jesus Christ wants to transform us totally – spiritually and emotionally, thoughts and actions. “Therefore glorify God in your body” (v20).
