April 29: Mark 6:33-56

Mark 6:33-56

“He felt great compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd” (v34).  Jesus recognized the total helplessness of His followers.  They needed to be taught the truth about God and themselves; so He taught them (v34).  They were hungry and sick, so He fed and healed them (v42, 56).  The disciples recognized some of Jesus’ power but failed to see the whole; they saw Him feed people but were shocked that He calmed the storm (v52).

All things came into being by Him” (John 1:3).  In our lives and the universe, Jesus has power to “reconcile all things to Himself” (Col 1:20).
