Job 13-14
“All the days of my struggle I will wait, until my change comes” (14:14). Job wasn’t sure about a resurrection, but he hoped. He trusted the Creator despite a life of loss and frustration (13:15). His hope wasn’t in miracles but in the character of God, His majesty and wisdom (12:13, 13:11). On that basis alone, Job committed to wait and see how God would respond to his cry.
Job suspected that loss and death were not the end of the story. How much more, now that Jesus has been raised as the firstfruits of the resurrection, should we wait and trust in hope.
