April 7: Matthew 28

Matthew 28

“I know you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified” (v5).  The angel recognized the women as Jesus-followers, still faithful to their crucified Teacher.  These women were the first to hear the great news: He has risen!  They were the first to see Him and worship Him (v9).  They were nobody in themselves, like the other disciples; Jesus was the One who taught, lived, suffered and died, and rose again – for them.  But they could follow Him.

The women were looking for Jesus, and they found Him, alive forever.  Their discipleship continued, as they simply followed Him in faith and obedience.
