April 8: II Chronicles 20-21

II Chronicles 20-21

"Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God's" (v15). What comforting words! God told King Jehoshaphat and the people that this battle was His responsibility. They had humbled themselves: "We are powerless ... but our eyes are on Thee" (v12). God responded by telling them, "You need not fight in this battle ... stand and see the salvation of the Lord" (v17).

We don't find it easy to give up control. But God is fully able to fight our battles (and win), if we will let Him.
