II Chronicles 22-23
"Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and all the people and the king, that they should be the Lord's people" (23:16). In these chaotic post-Solomon years, each new leader of Judah had to choose whether or not to follow God. Jehoiada wasn't a king; he was a priest. He and his wife (a princess) had protected a young prince from his bloodthirsty grandmother, Athaliah. Young Joash was eventually crowned king by Jehoiada the priest. Together, they led Judah back into the ways of God.
Jehoiada the priest and his family risked everything to restore righteousness to their land.
