Job 17-19
“And as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives … yet from my flesh I shall see God” (19:26). This is Job’s desire through the whole book: that he would get to see God. He longs for this encounter and yet is terrified at the same time: “My heart faints within me” (v27). His friends accuse him of evil; he has no idea why he is suffering. What he does know is that God has the answers, God is in charge, and God’s presence changes everything.
Job knew that his only real hope was an encounter with God Himself.
