Psalm 40
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry” (v1). Nearly every believer has a story about the time when God “brought me up out of … the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock” (v2). Along with Bible stories and the testimonies of others, our own experience teaches us that God is faithful and kind (v10). We then have the privilege and responsibility of telling others about what God has done for us (v9-10).
When new troubles frighten us or bring us pain, we are confident: “Thou art my help and my deliverer” (v17).
