Psalm 43
“O send out Thy light and Thy truth, let them lead me” (v3). Again, the psalmist repeats the encouragement (to himself and us): “Hope in God!” (v5). He found himself in a shadowy place, attacked by “deceitful and unjust men” (v1), and plagued by despair (v5). But he envisioned God, in His glorious, shining heaven, sending out “light and truth” as a beacon to lead the weary traveler home. Following that precious light, the psalmist knew he could find his way to “Thy holy hill, Thy dwelling places” (v3).
God has sent His Son into our darkness, and His light and His presence change everything.
