August 16: Ephesians 3

Ephesians 3

“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think …” (v20).  These powerful words encourage us in all kinds of situations.  Primarily, however, Paul was talking about God’s ability to heal the enmity between humans, and between humans and the Father, through the work of Christ.  Paul said that the greatest “mystery” hidden in the past, and now revealed, is that the despised Gentiles were “fellow members of the body” (v2-9).

Our most intractable problems come from hatred and broken relationships. But, “rooted and grounded in love” (v17), we have the power of Christ to heal every division.
