Psalm 113
“He raises the poor from the dust … He makes the barren woman abide in the house as a joyful mother of children” (v9). The psalms of praise never express forced or scripted admiration. The psalmist didn’t shout “Praise the Lord!” (v1) because the Creator demanded it. Instead, the psalms always give reasons for praising our God. He is “high above all nations” and above the universe, but He cares about us (v6). He is tender toward the poor and broken-hearted.
We praise the Lord because He is full of love and mercy toward His creation.
