Ephesians 1:1-14

“In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will …” (v5). Before the foundation of the world, God determined to adopt us (all who believe, v13) into His family. In the controversy about the origins of the universe, we forget the most important point: God made the world “in love.” His purpose was kind, and when we sinned, He “lavished upon us” His grace (v8).

Our earth may be full of trouble, but God’s love hasn’t changed. He is working toward “the summing up of all things in Christ” (v10).
