Ephesians 1:15-23

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened …” (v18). Paul’s prayed that the Ephesian believers would know the truth about their identity in Christ. If they understood their relationship with God, then their lives would be transformed. Paul prayed they would comprehend “the hope of His calling” (we were created for good works, 2:10). He prayed that

believers might grasp “the riches” of our position as adopted children, and the amazing power of our Father.

The world says we must compete to win wealth, status, and security. God says we are beloved children with an eternal inheritance.
