Psalm 110
“Sit at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet” (v1). Jesus confounded His questioners with this well-known Messianic psalm (Matt 22:44), challenging their views about prophecy. The Messiah was in fact among them, refusing to establish a worldly kingdom but inviting them to join a better Kingdom far beyond their dreams. Jesus is seated at the high place – the Father’s right hand – and we, as His “fellow heirs” (Rom 8:17), will reign with Him (2 Tim 2:12).
By His sacrifice, Jesus invites us in to share the blessings of His special relationship with the Father.
