Ephesians 4
“We are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ” (v15). This is the goal: that we, together as the body, would grow into the image of our Savior (v13). We cannot do this as individuals. Instead, “… the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love” (v16).
“What every joint supplies” means that each one of us is absolutely necessary for the church to be what God has called us to be, together.
