August 23: Proverbs 28

Proverbs 28

“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion” (v1). From Genesis to Revelation, the scriptures affirm that fear should not oppress God’s people. Joshua and Caleb saw the giants and fortified cities of Canaan, but they said, “We shall surely overcome it” (Num 13:30). This boldness doesn’t come from faith in ourselves, because “he who trusts in his own heart is a fool” (v26), but from faith in God.

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom 8:31). Because God is with us and for us, we can face life with courage.
