Ephesians 2-3
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think …” (3:20). Ephesians explains that one of the “exceedingly” amazing things God did was to reconcile Jews and Gentiles in Christ. All human history deals with enmity between groups, tribes, nations and cultures. But Christ “broke down the barrier of the dividing wall” (2:14) and made us “one new man.” Christ’s love “surpasses knowledge” (3:19) and tears down human walls.
“Every family in heaven and on earth” derives from God (3:14), and we are called to regard everyone as potential brothers and sisters.
