August 29: Ephesians 6

Ephesians 6

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might” (v10).  After teaching the Ephesians about their wonderful destiny in Christ (ch 1-3) and instructing them how to live (ch 4-6), Paul urged them to depend on God’s strength.  Living for Christ in “this present darkness” is not easy (v12); the “schemes of the devil” constantly threaten to steal our joy and peace.  But we are not helpless.  We can put on the armor of God and stand firm against every attack (v11).

Our weapons are many and powerful: truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer (v14-18).
