August 3: Luke 18

Luke 18

“Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart” (v1).  Luke helpfully tells us the main point of the parable before giving us the actual story.  Jesus often used human, imperfect examples to show “how much more” we can trust our Father.  In this case, the corrupt judge listened to the widow, eventually, because she just wouldn’t stop asking.

Therefore, we should “pray and not lose heart”, because if even a reluctant, grumpy judge responded, how much more will our loving Father meet our needs?
