December 10: Acts 8-9

Acts 8-9

"Do you understand what you are reading?" (8:30). Philip's question had a practical answer: "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" (v31). The Holy Spirit had moved this Ethiopian's heart to read Isaiah. An "angel of the Lord" sent Philip to the Gaza road. God was working, and His people were obeying. Philip's part was explaining the scriptures to this Ethiopian. Paul was blinded by Jesus' light, yet Ananias' obedience (9:10-19) was a large factor in Paul's conversion.

We are partners with God's Spirit. Along with miracles and visions, God uses our obedience to bring light into a dark world.
