Psalm 65
“O God of our salvation, Thou who art the trust of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest sea” (v5). Even though Israel was unique, having the law and the covenants, the psalmist knew that God was Lord of the entire earth. He said, “They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Thy signs” (v8), seeing God’s handiwork in “dawn and sunset”. Nothing and no one is outside God’s jurisdiction.
He is called “Thou who dost hear prayer” (v2). He is the trust and hope of people everywhere (v5), the giver of all good gifts (v9).
