Psalm 144-145
“He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him” (145:19). The psalmist based this joyful promise on his knowledge of God. He knew that God created our desires for family, home, and peace (144:12-15). God is “gracious and merciful, slow to anger and great in lovingkindness” (v8). He trusted God’s work in his life because of his own experiences, and because believers had handed down stories of God’s faithfulness. “One generation shall praise Thy works to another” (v145:4).
By sharing “the memory of [God’s] abundant goodness,” (145:7) we encourage each other to trust Him for the present and future.
