Revelation 4-9

“And every created thing …I heard saying, ‘To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory …’” (5:13).  John’s visions answered many questions for the persecuted believers of the Roman Empire.  Does God hear our prayers?  They are like precious incense before Him every day (8:4).  Who will be saved?  People from every nation, tongue, and tribe (7:9).  Who will win in the end?  The Lamb, who is also “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” (5:5). 

Through John’s vision, the early believers were comforted by a broader perspective: the King was still in charge of His universe.
