I Chronicles 1-3
“Adam,Seth, Enosh … Abraham” (1:1-27). The book of Chronicles begins with a genealogy, whose purpose was to show the legitimacy of the kings and priests of Israel. However, by beginning with Adam, the author also revealed the interconnectedness of all peoples. While God was working out a special plan through Abraham’s descendents, the nation of Israel, He had not forgotten their distant cousins (their enemies) – all the other nations of the earth.
God’s beautiful plan was that in Christ “the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles” (Gal 3:14), so that the human family might be reunited as brothers and sisters of the same Father.
