Psalm 146

“I will praise the Lord while I live” (v2).  The psalms declare that our relationship with God is grounded on our belief about who He is.  We praise Him because He made “heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them,” and we love Him because “He keeps faith forever” (v6).  In our world, we see greed, selfishness, and bigotry, but God “gives food to the hungry … sets the prisoners free ... protects the strangers … supports the fatherless and the widow” (v7-9). 

This is the Lord we worship and serve.   “How blessed is he … whose hope is in the Lord his God!” (v5).
