I John 4-5
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (4:10). This is the central fact of our faith. God’s love poured out in Christ is so important, John said, that “by this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God” (4:2). Believers may disagree about certain minor points, but not this.
Jesus Christ is our definition of love and our definition of truth, and “he who has the Son has life” (5:12).
