Acts 14:1-18
"Therefore they spent a long time there speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord, who was ... granting that signs and wonders be done by their hands" (v3). Driven by persecution to Iconium, Paul and Barnabas immediately began preaching again about Jesus. Some believed, and some resisted, and so they taught "with reliance upon the Lord" (v3). In a hostile, unbelieving culture, they could not preach Jesus without the activity of the Spirit.
Paul and Barnabas didn't just deliver well-rehearsed apologetic speeches. They spoke about the Jesus they knew, filled with the power of the Spirit who raised Him.
