December 27: Acts 15:1-12

Acts 15:1-12

“But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are” (v11).  Some Jewish Christians were wondering how the former Gentile “pagans” who turned to Christ could be included in the family of God.  Some said they should be circumcised; they believed obedience to the Law was necessary for salvation (v1).  But Peter argued that Jews themselves were not saved by the Law (symbolized by circumcision), but by grace.

Both Jews and Gentiles are included in God’s family by faith.  God’s grace poured out in Jesus Christ is completely sufficient for us.
