Zechariah 11-14
“And the Lord will be king over all the earth” (14:9). The prophet Zechariah mingled visions of judgment – the King who subdues everyone - with visions of redemption. God promised to avenge the oppression of His people, and He was also going to heal Jerusalem and give rebellious humanity an opportunity to return to Him. “I will pour out … on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication” (12:10).
Through Christ, “the spirit of grace” has been poured out. In Him, we are called to live in the present as citizens of the coming Kingdom where there will be “no more curse” (14:11).
