Acts 15:1-12
"... and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith" (v9). The early church was Jewish. But, as missionaries spread the gospel, the Gentile men and women who began to believe in Jesus were culturally very different from the Jews. They were like children brought into a settled family abruptly, by marriage or adoption. Some believers wanted the newcomers to become Jewish, mainly by circumcision. But Peter pointed out that in God's eyes, they were one family already.
All who believe are brothers and sisters, saved through Jesus (v11), no matter how different we seem.
