I Kings 13-14
"After this event Jeroboam did not return from his evil away ..." (13:33). Since Solomon sinned and the kingdom split in two, God had offered Jeroboam a new beginning. If Jeroboam followed God, his descendents would be established on Israel's throne forever. But Jeroboam led his people into idolatry. He didn't heed the warnings of the prophet God sent. Jeroboam's own hand was withered up and then healed, but he still disregarded the power of God.
Even great miracles can't force anyone to follow God. He offers us new life, forgiveness, eternity itself - but we must receive Him.
