Revelation 1-4

“I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades” (v18). The Living One experienced and conquered death, our worst fear. Jesus has “the keys of death and Hades,” and therefore our lives are no longer hostage to death or hell. To a suffering church, Jesus said that those who “overcome” (remain faithful) will live forever with him in Paradise (2:7).

Death may be tragic, but never hopeless, if our trust is in the Living One. Nothing can separate us from His love (Rom 8).
