Acts 9
“But Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding the Jews who lived at Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ” (v22). Jesus appeared to Saul on the road and led him, through miraculous steps, to become a disciple. Through his conversion and baptism, Saul was transformed into Paul, Spirit-filled preacher of the gospel. Jesus removed Saul’s sin, not his personality. Now allied with Christ, forgiven and called, Saul used his passion and words to speak out boldly, talk and argue (v28-29) about the Messiah.
God washes us clean from sin so that our redeemed personalities and gifts, in infinite variety, can glorify Him.
