December 7: II John - Jude

2 John - Jude

“Beloved … contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3:3).  Jude told the believers not to take anything for granted.  The devil wanted to destroy the church, and they should be on their guard against those who would twist the gospel, diminish it, or deny our Lord Jesus Christ (1:4).  John also warned against those who denied that Jesus came “in the flesh” (2 John v7).

Every generation must “contend for the faith” against the lies of our culture, sharing the good news without compromise: through Christ, we can stand in God’s presence, blameless and joyful (Jude v24).
