February 13: Proverbs 2

Proverbs 2

“For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will guard you, understanding will watch over you” (v10-11). Wisdom, the path of following God’s ways, has enormous benefits for everyday life. While the book of Job describes the pain of random trouble, the proverbs teach us to avoid self-inflicted misery (v18) by nurturing holy habits of honesty, purity, self-control, etc. “The Lord gives wisdom” (v6): good choices begin with knowing God.

Wisdom is not information, but a path (v8), and it leads to the joy and peace we desire.
