February 2: II Chronicles 19-20

II Chronicles 19-20

“And when they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir” (20:22).  King Jehoshaphat and Judah were outnumbered, but they were servants of the “Ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations” (v6).  They called on God together, “infants, their wives, and their children” (v13).  God assured them, “You need not fight in this battle … stand and see the salvation of the Lord” (v17).  Their only task was to praise Him.

Some challenges we face are simply too big for us.  We can trust that God is fighting our battles, for “His lovingkindness is everlasting” (v21).
