Psalm 10
“Why dost Thou stand afar off, O Lord? Why dost Thou hide Thyself in times of trouble?” (v1). Sometimes the psalmist could not see God at work. The world was a mess, and wicked people prospered. “In the hiding places, he kills the innocent” (v8). Further, the wicked boldly proclaimed, “There is no God,” (v4), or “He will never see it” (v11). But the psalmist remembered the truth: God sees every bit of the world’s misery (v14).
When we cannot see God at work, our hearts affirm by faith that He does hear “the desire of the humble” (v17), and promises to help.
