Romans 3

“But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested … through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe” (v22).  Paul explained that the Law was given to teach us about right and wrong (v20), but no one could ever keep it perfectly (ch 2).  However, we were not left alone in our sins.  “Now,” Paul said, God’s righteousness has been revealed not in the Law, but in a Person, the Word made flesh.

Jesus Christ, the Perfect One, covered our sins by His sacrifice.  More than that, through His goodness, we are declared holy “as a gift by His grace” (v24).
