Romans 5

“For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life” (v10).  The death of Jesus Christ paid for our sins so that we are no longer God’s enemies.  Yet Jesus gave us more than forgiveness – He gave us life.  We were not saved to simply escape punishment, but to experience overflowing life, now and forever, by the power of Jesus’ resurrection (v17, 21). 

The same Spirit that raised Jesus establishes His life in us, preparing us for the day when we and all creation are completely renewed (Rom 8:19-25).
