February 8: Psalm 77

Psalm 77

"I will meditate on all Thy work, and muse on Thy deeds" (v12). 3000 years ago, the psalmist lay awake at night, despairing over his life. He felt rejected by God, his Creator and Redeemer. "Has His lovingkindness ceased forever?" (v8). The psalmist's troubles were not easily resolved, yet he knew what to do in those long night hours. "I shall remember the deeds of the Lord" (v11). He found comfort by mentally reviewing God's great miracles (v14-20).

God led His people safely through the sea (v19-20), though His footprints were not visible. He will lead us to safety, too.
