II Kings 2

"I have purified these waters; there shall not be from there death or unfruitfulness any longer" (v21). The Old Testament prophets were formidable people. Elijah went to heaven in a fiery chariot, and Elisha had "a double portion" of the same power. Through him, God's Spirit healed the bitter water of Jericho, making it possible for crops to grow again. Even more amazing, God said "in the last days, I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind" Joel 2:28).

Jesus came to heal men and women, body, soul, and spirit. As people of the Spirit, we proclaim Life in His name.
