Psalm 2
“But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain” (v6). When the first believers were warned not to preach about Jesus, they met together and prayed, quoting this psalm (Acts 4:25-26). They were unarmed, not wealthy, and they had no political power. They had seen Jesus crucified, and they knew that the powers of the world were arrayed against “the Lord and against His anointed” (Psalm 2:2). But they had also witnessed the Resurrection, and so they were not afraid.
If we know that our King is alive and loves us, there is nothing to fear.
