Genesis 9
“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth” (v1). When God recommitted to His creation, choosing mercy over destruction, He repeated His original command to humanity. God didn’t tell Noah and his descendents to stay in one corner of the world in order to limit the damage they could do; amazingly, He told them to spread out. His message to them was about hope, and blessing, and re-creation. Despite humanity’s proven bent toward sin, God still wanted us to go forward.
Whatever we have done, when we accept God’s mercy, our future is bright. Redemption means that we have a part in God’s purposes of blessing and re-creation.
