I Chronicles 27-29
“O Lord our God, all this abundance that we have provided to build Thee a house for Thy holy name, it is from Thy hand, all is Thine” (29:16). This attitude was one of the best things about King David; he recognized God’s greatness. The riches of Israel were given back to God for the building of the Temple, as David declared that “all is Thine.” The people of Israel themselves were “sojourners before Thee, and tenants” (v15), meaning that they lived in the land by God’s mercy.
Humility is strongly linked to gratitude. When we know we deserve nothing, we are grateful for everything.
